Lap Steel

Custom built lap steel, Sapele body, quilted Maple fretboard with clay dot inlays. Custom cut Tusq nut, customized saddles (zero radius), string through body with top ferrules, GuitarFetish Surf 90 pickup, quality electronics. Comes with steel bar and finger picks. Currently strung with GHS Custom Shop Lap steel strings, E Medium. Channels cut in the far and underside make it easier to grip and may help it stay in your lap better.

I built it because I could. I'm not a lap steel player but it was fun to build and came out great. The Surf 90 pickup can deliver a nice twang as well as a bit more grit than a typical single coil. According to the official description: "a crisp, but never harsh, high end". That sounds perfect for a Lap Steel.
